2006-2007
Monday November 6th 2006 the New Brave Voices made their first appearance at the fall vocal concert. The theme: "A Night with Andrew Lloyd Webber." the group of 12(including Simon Asebedo who quit Brave Voices at second Semester) sang the famous "All I Ask of You" from Mr. Webber's "Phantom of the Opera" the also sang and danced to the famous Doo Wah Diddy, and sang a large medley from the ever so popular Musical "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat"
Monday December 11th 2006 the Brave Voices stepped out on stage again for their Winter Vocal Performance the gang sang A medley of classic Christmas music then finished of with a jazzy number called "The Perfect Christmas Night" Later that week the BV's traveled to 4 schools and the hays house to carol on the Brave Voices Christmas Tour.They then attended the Senior Center Christmas Dinner and preformed their Christmas Tour routine.
Tuesday February 20th 2007 the Brave Voices returned to the stage with one less male singer. When the group of 12 discovered that they would continue the year a group of 11 they were initially stunned. But would have to make due with an odd number of people leaving one stray female(Rhiannon Stevens) without a partner. Rhiannon always commented on her situation being that of an inappropriate word but she managed very well. Due to Simons Sudden departure and lack of knowledge on the subject no comments will be made toward the young man other than they managed fine without him.The Brave Voices Sang a group of musical numbers like "from an Irish Cabin" "Accidentally in love" and then a mass choir of all high school and middle school students sang the mixed medley and Preview to the upcoming "High School Musical" they called it the "Megan Mix" and for the closing Josh Jimersion, Chynna Walters, Ashley Prudence, and Tim Acosta sang a song from "High School Musical"
Wednesday March 7th 2007 Brave Voices Traveled to Mission Valley and Preformed for the league vocal contest and took home a 1 rating
Thursday March 15th and Friday March 16th 2007 the Brave Voices and Plenty other Organizations of Students Preformed the popular Disney Channel original Movie "HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL" for the spring musical. for additional info click here.
Saturday April 14th 2007 the Gang traveled to Manhattan High for the Regional Solo and ensemble contest the group Preformed "from and Irish Cabin" after performing it at league and getting a 1. Sadly the group took home a 2 but they were still proud of their efforts. Chynna Walters Preformed 2 songs "Swinging" and "Sing ye a Joy full Song" and took home a 1. Josh Jimerson Sang 2 songs "on the Beach at Night Alone" and "The Black Dress" and also took home a 1. Both of them went on to State.
Saturday April 28th 2007 Chynna and Josh traveled to Wichita for the state solo and ensemble contest where they both received 2s.
Monday April 30th 2007 the Brave Voices Preformed their Final concert together on stage they sang "The Song that Goes Like this," from Monty Pythons "Spamalot," they also did the classic Marc Cohn song "Walking in Memphis" and then to two songs which divided the boys and girls up. The boys sang "Taking Care of Business" and the girls sang "Behind these Hazel Eyes." the gang also sang "Seasons of love" from the popular movie musical "RENT."
Tuesday May 15th 2007 the Brave Voices Variety show took place where Students have a chance to audition on stage for Brave Voices and they can just sing a solo for fun. The Brave Voice's solos were: Rhiannon Stevens singing "Rhiannon" by fleetwood mac, Kathleen Hornung and Tim Acosta singing "Whisky Lullaby" by Brad Paisley and Allison Krauss. Kathleen also sang "Burn" by Jo Dee Messina and Tim sang "Long Black Train" by Josh Turner. Josh Jimerson Sang "Look After You" By the Fray, and Courtney Frye sang a song from the musical "Fame" called "Fame." Chynna Walters sang "Taylor the Latte Boy" and Bryce Ellerman Sang "Don't take you Guns to Town" by Johnny Cash. We also had a special duet from Travis Lemay and Bailey Henry Singing "I got you Babe" by Sonny and Cher in 60's garb. Ashley Prudence also sang the song she sang at Baccalaureate, "Don't Forget to Remember Me" by Carrie Underwood.
The New Brave Voices Are Scheduled to have their First Performance at the 2007 Relay for Life hope to see you then!!
