Synopsis
A slightly altered adaptation of the Disney Channel Original Movie "High School Musical" is how you would describe the 2007 Brave Voices musical. the Council Grove version of "High School Musical" the movie and script originally follows the life's of the students at Albuquerque, New Mexico's East high. The East high Wildcats are proud in their academics and their athletic reputation...But we at CGHS felt that we were just as proud as them so we decided to change the mascot and school to the CG Braves! It was cheesy but it worked.
The new year begins and the winter break comes to an end the students at CGHS return for second semester. Troy Bolten(Josh Jimerson) the basketball star and head jock of the school, returns to his friends Chad Danfourth(Travis Lemay) and Zeke Baylor(Bryce Ellerman) are ready to win the state championship game two weeks from that day. Troy talks of how he met his new friend Gabriella Montez(Chynna Walters) who is the new girl at east high at a ski lodge where they find they have a nack for singing together at a New Years eve Karaoke Party. Gabie is welcomed by her new friends Taylor McKessie(Courtney Frye) and Martha Cox(Rhiannon Stevens) into the world of the science decathlon. But when Troy and Gabriella reunite they decide to audition for the spring musical the "Twinkle Town Musical." When Troy and Gabriella make the callbacks all chaos breaks loose, Sharpay Evans(Ashley Prudence) the reigning queen of music and her twin Ryan Evans(Tim Acosta) the king that seems to be his sister's lap dog, try everything in their power to make sure that Troy and Gabriella don't make their final audition.But with the help of the quiet yet cheery composer Kelsie Neilsen(Bailey Henrey) who is bound and determined to have Gabi and Troy in her show the competition gets tuff.Also their friends want to make sure they don't audition so that they will be completely focused on the Big game and the Science Decathlon. it is a twisty bumpy ride with plenty of fun musical numbers along the way.
