Web Site Evaluation Lesson Planning Aides
Lou Brewer

1. Visit Kathy Schrock’s website for lots of great information. Forms have already been developed for you in both PDF and Word formats, so you can choose the one you prefer to use. There are guides for Elementary, Middle School and High School evaluation, as well as articles written about evaluating sites.

2. Cyberbee’s Cyberguides was very helpful. It has evaluation tools that are age appropriate so it can be used with some of your youngest students.

3. Martha passed on to me the link to the following document that she has created and/or adapted. It is great and can be easily adapted if you need to. Use the link labeled Web Site Evaluation Forms for your Students.

4.     Cindy Harold passed on the following web site which I found very useful because it has hands-on instructional guides. Be sure to check all of the sections. There are links to Powerpoint presentations on web site evaluations that I plan on checking out as well as checking for Bias, Authorship, etc.

5. Someone passed on the following site from Joyce Kasman Valenza’s web page. Great stuff especially for grades 9-12, but can be adapted.

6.      Joseph Amos at Blue Valley passed on the following and I’ve only touched the surface, but be sure and check it out: Blue Valley website evaluation information. Here is the website evaluation form Blue Valley has the kids use:
