Course Description: American Studies is a two-hour block course that integrates English III with American History and is team-taught by two instructors, one from English and one from Social Science. The course covers American literature and American writers. The course includes study of grammar and composition as well, including an annotated research paper. Course Description: Social Studies is the study of humans and their agreements and disagreements. The objective of this course is to give students a better understanding of the society around them. A wide range of methods will be used to teach this class. Students will study groups, cultures, societal statistics and the impact of social change.PSYCHOLOGY

Course Description: Psychology is the science of human behavior and mental processes. The areas of study will include the development of psychology, biological foundations of behavior, consciousness, development through life, psychology and health, psychological disorders, therapy, and male and female relationships.GOVERNMENT

Course Description: American Government will begin with a detailed look at the U.S. Constitution. An in-depth look at the three branches of government will then build from this knowledge base. The electoral process, taxation process and the structure of federal bureaucracy will also be detailed.
