LIFE SKILLS
Length of Course: year Grade Level: 9,10,11,12 Prerequisites: by review of academic progress and referral
Course Description: The purpose of life skills is to improve a student's study habits and self management techniques. Students can get academic assistance and tutoring so that they might be successful in learning situations.

DRAMA
Length of Course: year Grade Level: 10,11,12 Prerequisites: none
Course Description: This course emphasizes oral communication and performance in front of an audience. Students will work on script analysis and memorization, scene study, creativity, character development and vocal and physical techniques. Also included will be set design and painting, prop utilization, placement and operation of lighting, promotion, and movie production.

SPEECH
Length of Course: year Grade Level: 9,10,11,12 Pre-Requisites: none
Course Description: This is a basic class in speech communication with an emphasis on skills that will prepare the student to speak before a group. Activities will include choosing subjects, gathering and organizing material, delivering the speech, and small group communications.

APPLIED COMMUNICATIONS
Length of Course: year Grade Level: 11,12 Pre-Requisites: English I and II
Course Description: This course teaches communications/language arts/English/skills in an applied setting. It is designed to help students transfer improved reading, writing, listening, speaking, problem solving, verbal and non-verbal skills to careers and personal lives. The course is designed for vocational/technical bound students.
