Art Program Outcomes (to be met upon high school graduation):
I. Be able to use materials appropriately and safely.
II. Respect and appreciate the creativity of self and others.
III. Be able to judge art from technical criteria and from an
aesthetic point of view.
A. To be able to use ideas and content in a clear, focused and
aesthetically pleasing manner with relevant detail.
B. To be able to organize art into a central idea or theme.
C. To be able to evoke positive emotional responses of the viewer
through color choices, line and subject matter.
D. Subject matter must be interesting and precise in a natural
way without vulgarity.
E. To be compositionally literate.
F. To have knowledge of and be able to use specific tools.
IV. To have knowledge of and appreciation for varied artistic
styles, cultural differences and multimedia applications.
V. Being responsible for meeting due dates.
Universal Outcomes (to be met at each grade level):
I. To create in a responsible manner.
A. Be able to use materials appropriately and safely.
B. Respect and appreciate the creativity of others.
C. Be able to judge art from technical criteria and from an aesthetic
point of view.
D. Be able to clean up when finished with an art project.
E. Be able to create art in keeping with the accepted standards
of decency and respect.
