Mu.5.4. - This indicates that you are looking at an outcome for Music, Grade 5,
outcome #4.
Mu.HSB.3. - This indicates that you are looking at an outcome for Music, High School Band, outcome #3.

"GENERAL GUIDELINES”
USD 417 MUSIC CURRICULUM


1. Adjustments are made in schools in USD 417 due to combining of grade levels for music classes.
2. There are discrepancies in equipment, instruments, and technology in different schools in USD 417.
3. Music in middle school grade levels in some USD 417 schools is treated as a choir class, not a general music class.
4. Council Grove Seventh and Eighth Grade Music classes are elective and on a 9-weeks basis. They are choir classes only.
5. Council Grove Sixth Grade Music class is half time and is a choir class only.
6. Council Grove Elementary and Wilsey Elementary offer beginning band in sixth grade. Prairie Heights Middle School offers beginning band in fifth grade.
