Servers
The network
server's name is Chief 98. You can call Chief 98 up on your
screen and access the files on the server to which your network
administrator has assigned you access privileges. Currently
your network administrator is Martha
House.
HOW TO ACCESS THE SERVER
1. Under the apple in the upper left hand corner of your screen,
choose the Chooser.
2. Click AppleShare.
3. Click CHIEF 98.
4. Hit OK.
5. When you are a registered user, your name is registered as
your first initial and last name. Example: M. House. Type your
name in so it matches. You should create a password to make
sure the files in your folder are protected. (You need to register
your user id and password in the library. They need to be assigned
on the server side before you can use use them on the client
side.)
6. Hit OK.
7. You now have access to the server hard drive (CHIEF 98).
8. To open the hard drive, highlight the files on Chief 98 you
want to use and click OK.
9. Close the Chooser.
10. Your files should show up on your screen right beneath your
hard drive. Click on the folders you want to open twice.
