ABILENE HIGH SCHOOL LETTERING POLICY

THE CRITERIA FOR EARNING A LETTER IS AS FOLLOWS:

The letter for Quiz Bowl/Hi-Q would be awarded on the basis of points accumulated for activities during the year. To earn a letter, the student would have to have accumulated and registered a minimum of 75 total points based on the point system below:

PARTICIPATION
Competing in a tournament - 5 points each
Organizing/Preparing AHS Tournament - 10 points
Working AHS Tournament - 5 points

ACCOMPLISHMENT
Placing 1st in a tournament - 15 points
Placing 2nd in a tournament - 10 points
Placing 3rd in a tournament - 5 points
Qualifying for top 16 in Hi-Q - 15 points
Winning match in final Hi-Q competition - 5 points each
Qualifying for state - 25 points

COMMITMENT
Improving knowledge in 1 subject area - 10 points
