SCHOLARS' BOWL TEAM REQUIREMENTS & LETTERING POLICY


TO BE ELIGIBLE TO COMPETE IN SCHOLARS' BOWL A STUDENT MUST:

1. Have passed five or more subjects the previous semester.

2. Be enrolled and passing five or more subjects the semester of competition.

3. Maintain academic standards in classroom work. (Low grades create ineligibility.)

4. Practice with the team during regularly scheduled sessions. It is the responsibility of the student to notify the coach when he/she cannot attend practice.

5. Be a student in "good standing" and demonstrate good sportsmanship and respect during practices and competitions.


TO EARN A LETTER IN SCHOLARS' BOWL A STUDENT MUST:

A. Satisfy conditions 1 through 5 above.

B. Compete in 5 or more Varsity Scholars' Bowl Tournaments or compete in any combination of 6 or more Varsity/JV/ Freshman/Sophomore Tournaments.

C. Write 10 or more questions suitable for Scholars' Bowl Competition in at least 3 different subjects. (If your mother, father, or some other adult in your family works as a judge or to help serve refreshments at either JCHS Scholars' Bowl Tournament, then this requirement will be waived.)

D. Perform assigned duties at the JCHS Scholars' Bowl Tournaments.
