WHITE CITY HIGH SCHOOL SCHOLARS' BOWL LETTERING POLICY

1. Attend 80% of all scheduled practices. Attendance will be kept by the sponsor. Any member requested to leave early from practice by the sponsor will not be counted present at that practice.

2. Compete in at least three (3) meets.

3. Help with any home meets in whatever capacity assigned by the sponsor. This could be writing questions, setting up rooms, moderating, buzzer person, scorer, etc...

4. Students who have already received a varsity letter will receive a gold bar for each year thereafter that they qualify for an activity letter.

Who will participate in each meet?

1. Team members chosen for each meet will be at the discretion of the sponsor.

2. Buzzer points, written question points and other attributes of each team member will be considered when making these decisions.

3. Every student on the team will go to at least one (1) out-of-town meet if at all possible.

4. In order to allow all members to compete in meets, different combinations of members will go to each meet. We will want our best to compete at KAKE, League, Regional and perhaps Centre! The top five (5) will not be the ones to go all of the time. But your buzzer points and written question points will count heavily when it is time to pick the top five (5) for the important meets. Also, a person who is tops in buzzer points, in say, fine arts, might be chosen ahead of someone who has a better overall score.

5. Practice questions may be turned in for one (1) point each. A limit of five (5) will be allowed each week. An extra credit point may be earned for each "good" fine arts or current events question. "Good" will be decided by the sponsor.

6. When a vote is taken to decide a course of action by the team, all members are expected to follow the chosen option whether or not they voted for the winning decision!

7. All team members will be expected to help set up for home meets. They may be assigned other duties as well.
