WICHITA - HEIGHTS HIGH SCHOOL SCHOLARS' BOWL LETTERING POLICY


The criteria for lettering in Scholars' Bowl are as follows:

To receive a letter the team member will need to accumulate a minimum of 100 points of which 20 need to be in the accomplishment category.

PREPARATION
*Regular attendance at practice - 1 point each
Noticeable improvement - 1-10 points
*Write questions for competition - 5 points

PARTICIPATION
*Competing in varsity tournaments - 5 points each
(4 minimum)
*Competing in Knowledge Master Open - 5 points each
Competing in Citizen's Bee - 5 points
Competing in novice tournaments - 3 points each

ACCOMPLISHMENT
Placing first in a tournament - 20 points each
Placing second in a tournament - 15 points each
Placing third or fourth in a tournament - 10 points each
Match won (greater total only) - 2 points each
Qualifying for TV round (top 16) at High-Q - 15 points
Winning match in TV round - 5 points each
Qualifying for state - 25 points
Placing in state
First - 20 points
Second - 15 points
Third or Fourth - 10 points
Placing in Citizen's Bee (school level)
First - 10 points
Second - 7 points
Third - 3 points
Placing in Citizen's Bee (Regional)
First - 20 points
Second - 15 points
Third - 10 points
Placing in Citizen's Bee (State)
First - 25 points
Second - 15 points

*These must be done. Other opportunities are optional. At all times you are to conduct yourself as a proper
representative of Wichita Heights High School.
