Apple's Knowledge Base contains articles on troubleshooting from the horse's mouth. If you call Apple tech support, chances are that some seventeen-year-old will read you some advice from this site. Don't forget to check the software updates while you are here.
Mac|Life can be helpful. It is a bit too full of itself for my taste, but it often has good information and is a solid second opinion after reading MacWorld.
