Dani Bacon

Grade: Junior
Office: Treasurer
Offices held: My sophomore year I was the FFA historian.
Favorite FFA Memory:
My sophomore
year we planned a FFA Homecoming Tailgate during a football game. We were able
to interact with the community. Afterwards we gathered together in the Ag.
Classroom and watched a movie and ate snacks.
What is the most valuable thing you've gotten out of FFA?
I have really
learned to come out of my box, and approach new challenges with high hopes. It
has helped me with my speaking skills, and enabled me to be able to get up in
front a crowd of people and talk.
What is one thing you would like to share with others who aren't in FFA?
Most of the
kids in our community aren’t Ag oriented, even though FFA is, you still learn
amazing leadership skills, management of money and other skills that will help
you be more career orientated.
Who
in the FFA has inspired you the most?
The district
officers amaze me with the skills they have to do so much with the FFA chapters,
and still be able to juggle college and their own life, they make great role
models.
What is you SAE?
My SAE is
beef production. I own about 6 cows, and a bull. When I was a small child my dad
started a savings account for me. When I earned enough money I was able to buy
my first bucket calf, and I raised the calf (Rosie). She had a steer and once he
was raised I sold him and was able to buy several cows from Lyons ranch. Over
the years my herd has increased and I have earned enough money to buy my truck
and save money for college.
What
activities are you involved in, in the FFA?
This will be
my first year on the livestock judging team, and since I am the Treasure I make
sure that all the finances are correct, I also work on various committees during
the year for FFA activities.
What are your other activities are you in beside the FFA?
I work at
Rays Apple market and that keeps me really busy, especially in the summer. I
also run cross country and am involved in FCA.
