In the event of inclement weather during a track event:
1. Announcements will be made regarding weather
watches and potential severe weather.
2. When asked to take cover, please send your
athletes and school personnel to your buses.
3. Remain at the stadium area on your bus until
you are dismissed or the all clear has been given. Do not leave
Council Grove until after you have checked with event management.
If your bus is not available a locker room at the stadium will
be made available to you.
4. All personnel will remain under cover until
you are given the all clear or are released.
5. Storm shelters are located at Council Grove
High School in the gymnasium locker rooms. In the event shelter
is necessary please transport athletes and school personnel by
bus on Hwy 177, turn East on Hockaday Street proceeding to the
North entrance of the Council Grove High School gymnasium. Off-load
and move personnel into any of the 4 locker rooms.
6. If you do not have a bus available for transport
please remain in the locker rooms at the stadium until another
team has off-loaded and a bus will be available to transport additional
teams to CGHS to take shelter.
7. Once you have taken cover, check in with
school administration or event management.
After-emergency shelter off-loading, bus parking is available
in the gravel lot to the East of Council Grove High School.
